Earlier today, Knoxville based rapper Boobie Cambridge finally released his new album "1300 B.C." to all major streaming services like Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and YouTube.

The wait for Boobie's first ever project was definitely worth it, and I suggest you stream the album on Spotify below:

We got to sit down with the Blossom Records rapper to talk about 1300 B.C., his inspiration behind the album, and what his plans are for the rest of 2018.

INTERVIEW WITH BOOBIE CAMBRIDGE

What was your inspiration behind this album? Why did you name it 1300 B.C.?

Boobie: I’m still a rookie in this shit. I had no inspiration. I just needed my own project out. It’s like a foundation to what’s going to happen from here on out in my career. 1300 Michael is my persona hence I’m from the 13 streets of Alcoa and my government name. B.C. is the little prehistoric twist I threw in there yet it’s also an acronym for my stage name Boobie Cambridge.

Why did you choose Bombay Beck, Ukamea, and FKY9 to feature on this album?

Boobie: Beck put in hours engineering this project and he was gonna get his shine in return. It’s only right to pay that man by letting him spit his fire. Bro too talented. FK and I have a hit that can’t be left out of the mix. Somebody’s daughter is crying to it right now I guarantee. Shout out big bro haha.

How long did the album take to make, and do you think its your best work yet?

Boobie: It took 3 months. Beck tried his absolute best to make sure every track he engineered was perfect. My producer, TruArmada, perfectly produced every beat detail for detail and Ukamea produced a good 3 songs on there also. I didn’t know at first the songs made in his lab were gonna be on there but it’s hard to look at HBK, Medusa, or Cardiac Arrest and tell them no lol they’re like my spoiled children or something. This is definitely my best work so far.

What's your personal favorite track from the project?

Boobie: HBK as of right now is my favorite song I’ve ever made. Let Me Live is creeping up on it though.

What's next from here, any big moves for 2018?

Boobie: Birdhouse Flowfest April 21st. Cardiac Arrest video filmed by the IlyaOnTheFly and we’re just gonna move forward from there. All this hard work god is gonna throw blessings in my direction and everyone I work with. We just gotta stay humble no matter what.

I highly suggest you keep up with the Knoxville rapper because he is definitely one of the most talented artists coming out of the 865. Also, stay tuned for the visuals that Boobie and I are going to be working on within the next few months... we got a lot of dope stuff planned.
